WILDLIFE MEMO
September - October 2023
by Jayne

September-October Wildlife Activity

Bears - Mountain Lions - All wildfire are on the move now for rut and breeding seasons, plus preparing for winter.
Be extra aware at dusk to dawn and while driving to avoid encounters.
Berry crop is still good but declining. Keep windows and garage doors, vehicle windows and door closed and locked at night.
Keep dogs on long lines or leashes. Vocal commands often do not work in wildlife encounters.

Know of two bears out and about. No problems so far IF folks do their part. Little bear around Apache needs negative encounters so it does not get into human-caused trouble.
